Hudson Valley Animal Rescue & Sanctuary (HVARS) is a 501(c)(3) charity organization, located in New York State. We rescue domestic animals, farm animals and rehabilitate wildlife. We also run a low cost spay/neuter program for cats and small dogs.

Bailey – Sadly Baileys owner has passed away and he is looking for a new home! Bailey is a 12 yr old mini poodle. He is dog friendly and fine with cats. He had limited eye sight but gets around very well and for his age is in very good shape. He is house broken/crate trained and looking for a home to live out his golden years. Who wouldn’t want the enjoyment of a very mellow, lap dog like Bailey.
Nora – a Lab/Collie mix. She’s 6 years old – private local surrender- good with other animals. Let’s get Nora adopted!!
Marilyn is about 2 years old she had a litter of puppies of eight three or four of them were surrogates so she was a fabulous mom she’s great with other dogs she would be okay with cats but she just may chase them but I don’t think she would hurt them she’s great with people she’s a little on the petite side and is a great riding partner in the car.
Winter is a 10 week old female who comes from a purebred Beagle. Microchipped, spayed and up to date on vaccines.
Mike is a 10-11 week old boxer-pit mix. Microchipped, neutered and up to date on vaccines.
Savannah and Footsie are the pets of the week! Help these special needs cats find a home!
Savannah is the cripple that was beat with a bat about 5 months old. She is fine with all other animals and is incontinent and may have to wear diaper but is very mobile and gets around fine. She doesn’t mind being bathed!
Footsie is also about 5 months old and is just missing a footsie. She lives in free roam cat room so fine with other cats and cat friendly dogs..she also is completely mobile and uses litter box.
Cassidy is a Pit Bull/Boxer Mix. She is just over two years old and just had a litter of puppies. All of her puppies have been adopted and Cassidy is looking for her forever home! Luke
Luke is a 3 yr old hound mix. He is a super smart boy who knows basic commands, walks well on a leash and even knows of a few tricks. Luke came to us from SC where he was a chain dog, living his life tied to big tree out next to a horse field. Luke didn’t get much interaction and thrived for attention. After coming into our rescue, we have evaluated him and we think it would be best for him to go to a home by himself, as the only dog and no cats or young children. He loves to play with other dogs and is very dog friendly but he needs one on on attention. He would be great for a runner, hiker or someone wanting to do agility.
